On October 3, 2023, the Wyoming Department of Insurance released a memorandum reminding companies of their obligation to provide coverage of COVID-19 vaccines, with special consideration given to the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, which was recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunizations Practices (ACIP) on September 12, 2023.
The memorandum also reminds issuers that COVID-19 vaccines received from a network provider must be covered without cost-sharing within 15 business days after the date on which an application recommendation is made by the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) with an effective rating of “A” or “B” or ACIP regarding COVID-19 preventive care.
Group health plan sponsors in Wyoming will want to be aware of this guidance.
