NEW YORK - July 23, 2020 - NFP, a leading insurance broker and consultant that provides property and casualty, corporate benefits, retirement, and individual solutions, today announced that Mike James, head of Individual Solutions and president, NFP Life Solutions, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of The American College of Financial Services, the nation's largest accredited, nonprofit educational institution devoted to financial services. James has been heavily involved with The American College for the last four years, serving on the Foundation Board and the Conference of African American Financial Professionals (CAAFP) committee.
James was also selected to serve as the moderator for the 2020 CAAFP, an annual event hosted by The American College that will be held virtually this year in a five-hour event on August 4, 2020. With a focus on the advancement of African American financial professionals, representatives from leading companies will present on a variety of educational and inspirational topics. The agenda includes an inspirational message from Caroline Clarke, chief brand officer of Black Enterprise's Women of Power Summit, and entertainment from legendary comedian and actor Sinbad. NFP is sponsoring 100 registrations to the event, making them available to its employees to further support personal and professional growth.
James, who joined NFP in 2006, is responsible for NFP's Individual Solutions division, including its industry-leading wholesale and retail insurance platforms. James also serves on the board of AALU/GAMA, an advocacy organization representing and serving the financial security profession.
